Rainy Day Revisiting
I haven't been actively blogging because I work long hours these days and I'm often short on time or too tired to write well or to enjoy blogging in itself. A lot of good news has happened, like the people power revolution in Kyrgyzstan, the world finally getting serious about Syria's occupation of Lebanon and Jesse Jackson taking the right side of an issue for a change, in the sordid Terri Schiavo case. Bad news has happened abroad and close to home as well. That I haven't commented every day doesn't mean I haven't followed or had thoughts about each one. I think it's a good idea to be mindful of a blog's quality because the point of keeping one is to share with other people.
In other news, I have registered the domain name jonlester.com, not just because I needed to but also because there is an up-and-coming left handed pitcher
who spells his name just like mine. I'll have the domain assigned to a hosting plan in the next couple of weeks. There will also be more updates at the Distaster site
The disgraceful Terri Schiavo episode may not be over but word comes that she has died from slow starvation and dehydration. The mass media may abandon the issue but the questions it's raised will remain with us. Unresolved questions also include why she was denied available rehabilitation, why judges disregarded obvious video evidence that she was responsive and conscious, what really happened with her and Michael Schiavo and who's telling the truth about any of it.
